Romero’s body was found wrapped in plastic on the couple’s property. Banos admitted to beating Romero with a rifle, while Carrizales handed him a BB gun that was also used in the assault. The couple allegedly restrained Romero and fed him SlimFast through a straw before leaving him to die. Blood evidence at the scene supports the couple’s account. ABC13 Houston reported

A man and a woman appeared before a judge during the night, facing charges related to the murder of an individual whose body was discovered wrapped in plastic on their property. Narciso Banos, aged 49, and his wife, Francisca Carrizales, aged 42, have been accused of murder, aggravated kidnapping, and tampering with evidence of a human corpse. The victim, identified as Francisco Romero, 32, was reported missing by his wife on Saturday, who informed detectives that Romero was last seen at the couple’s residence in north Harris County on Ezekiel Street. It was revealed that Romero had been subjected to multiple beatings by the accused pair, which began on Thursday and continued into Friday. Upon the arrival of sheriff’s deputies, Romero’s lifeless body was found wrapped in black plastic and secured with electrical tape inside an office building. Cleaning products containing bleach were present in the room, along with a mop bucket just outside. While authorities were present, Banos and Carrizales arrived at the scene in their vehicle. During the court proceedings, Banos admitted, “I’m the one you’re looking for,” and subsequently confirmed to officials that the body was that of Romero. It was discovered that Banos was the victim’s employer. According to Romero’s wife, he had sent her a text message stating that he would be spending the night at Banos’ house and would then proceed to work from there the following morning. Concerned by the sound of her husband’s voice, which indicated he had been injured, she contacted Banos to inquire about his whereabouts when he failed to answer his phone. Banos claimed that Romero had engaged in an affair with his wife, Carrizales, and had assaulted him with a pistol. Banos alleged that Romero had left the property, and his whereabouts were unknown. Carrizales subsequently contacted Romero’s wife, stating that she needed to collect his final paycheck, which raised suspicions as the couple typically used direct deposit. She also mentioned that she intended to retrieve Romero’s truck and would do so on Monday, as the keys would be left inside. The keys were indeed found at the designated location. During an interview with officials, Banos confessed to repeatedly striking Romero in the head, face, and body with a rifle. He also requested that his wife retrieve a pistol from their residence, which he then used to further assault Romero. However, Carrizales mistakenly handed Banos a BB gun, which also contributed to the beating until it broke and scattered BB pellets. Banos also admitted to biting Romero on the arm and detaining him. Banos claimed that he instructed Romero to leave, but due to the severity of his injuries, Romero was unable to drive and requested to spend the night on the property. The couple allowed Romero to call his wife, but upon discovering that he was still present on their property, Banos restrained him with a strap and belt, while providing him with SlimFast through a straw, according to court testimony. Banos and Carrizales then left to run errands and returned to find Romero deceased. Instead of seeking assistance or contacting emergency services, they proceeded to wrap his body in plastic and abandoned him in the office on Friday night, with his phone and wallet left behind. Carrizales’ bail was set at £500,000, while Banos’ bail was set at £600,000 due to his admission of using firearms in the assault. Authorities confirmed the presence of blood evidence at the scene, consistent with the events described by the accused couple. Blunt force trauma also contributed to Romero’s death. As part of their bail conditions, the couple must surrender their passports, remain in the area, and have no contact with Romero’s family, including his wife..
