Two individuals who tragically lost their lives in a devastating home explosion in Plum, Pennsylvania have now been identified. The incident, which occurred in the Rustic Ridge Estates neighborhood on Saturday morning, resulted in the deaths of Father Casey Clontz, aged 38, and his 12-year-old son Keegan Clontz. The blast, which occurred just before 10.30am, completely destroyed three homes, with one being leveled and the other two engulfed in flames. Additionally, several other buildings sustained damage. Among the rubble, the bodies of four adults and one teenager were discovered, and three individuals were found trapped under debris and subsequently taken to the hospital. While two of the victims were later released, one remained in critical condition. In addition to the human casualties, 57 firefighters were treated at the scene for minor issues. While officials have not publicly released the names of the deceased, the Clontz family has confirmed that Casey and Keegan were among the victims. The father and son lived just a few houses down from the property that exploded and are believed to have been visiting their neighbors at the time of the blast. Casey’s wife, Jen Clontz, and his best friend, Nick Davis, described Casey and Keegan as inseparable and shared that they enjoyed spending time together outdoors, particularly at the lake. Keegan, who was set to turn 13 in January, was remembered as a loving brother to his younger sister Addie and someone who enjoyed fishing and outdoor activities with his father. Described as kind, caring, strong, and brave, Keegan also had a passion for football, hunting, fishing, and riding his mini bike. Casey, on the other hand, was remembered as a devoted husband and father. He had been married to his childhood sweetheart for 14 years and worked for Peoples Gas, the same provider that confirmed it was checking for gas leaks in the area following the explosion. The cause of the blast is still under investigation, and officials have warned that the process could take a significant amount of time due to the need for forensic testing. Gas and electric services in the area were temporarily shut off as a precaution, but plans were in place to restore service. This tragic event has deeply saddened the community, with Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro expressing his condolences and offering support to the affected families..
