A 66-year-old man, Gerald Michael Majchrzak, has been found guilty of armed robbery of a smoke shop in Middletown Township. He was sentenced to five to 10 years in state prison. His accomplice, Timothy Allen Baker, pleaded guilty and will be sentenced in October. The robbery occurred in May 2022, and the investigation involved multiple law enforcement agencies. A man of 66 years old, identified as Gerald Michael Majchrzak from Bristol Township, has been convicted on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, for the armed robbery of a smoke shop in Middletown Township that took place in May 2022. After a two-day trial overseen by Common Pleas Judge Stephen A. Corr, Majchrzak was found guilty of multiple charges, including robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, theft, and possession of a weapon. Consequently, Judge Corr sentenced him to serve a term of five to ten years in state prison. Timothy Allen Baker, aged 46 and from Bensalem Township, who was also involved in the robbery, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit robbery and is set to be sentenced in October.

The incident occurred on May 5, 2022, when Middletown Township police received an abandoned 911 call from the Infinity Smoke Shop located at 1236 E Lincoln Highway. Subsequently, employees reported to dispatchers that the store had been robbed at gunpoint. Upon arrival, officers identified the perpetrator as a white male with white hair, who was wearing a blue zip-up hooded sweatshirt, a blue medical-style face mask, and sunglasses. Surveillance footage from the store revealed the suspect brandishing a black handgun and threatening two employees.

The robber managed to escape with a sum of $3,000, a cigarette lighter, two cartons of cigarettes, and a pack of condoms. He then crossed East Lincoln Highway and made his getaway in a silver Hyundai Elantra. Through investigation, Majchrzak was identified as the individual responsible for the robbery, while Baker was identified as his accomplice and the driver of the getaway vehicle.
