An 18-year-old suspect named Wynod Bynum Jr. from Quincy has been identified in a shooting that resulted in the death of a 19-year-old male in Adams County. Adams County Sheriff’s Detectives are investigating the incident and searching for the murder weapon. The Illinois State Police are also involved in the investigation. Two men who transported the body to the ambulance station have been released, while the suspected shooter is being formally charged. UPDATE: 11:05AM – The suspect involved in the shooting incident has been identified as Wynod Bynum, Jr., an 18-year-old resident of Quincy. He is scheduled to appear in Adams County Circuit Court later today for his initial hearing.

An investigation is underway by Adams County Sheriff’s Detectives following a fatal shooting that resulted in the death of an unidentified 19-year-old male during the early hours of Monday.

Muddy River News has reported that one 19-year-old male has lost his life, while another individual is currently in custody in connection with a shooting incident that occurred in Adams County earlier this morning. Sheriff Tony Grootens informed MRN that deputies are still searching for the murder weapon, and investigators are actively working to determine the exact location where the fatal shooting took place. The Illinois State Police are also involved in assisting with the investigation.

Sheriff Grootens initially stated that three men were taken into custody, but subsequently, two of them were released after bringing the deceased victim to the ambulance station in Camp Point. The suspected shooter is now facing formal charges this morning. Adams County EMS transported the body to the Blessing Hospital emergency room in Quincy, where the victim was officially pronounced deceased.

Sheriff Grootens informed MRN that an official press conference will be held later today to provide additional details regarding the case.
