A photograph shows the tragic scene of a suspected leopard attack on a six-year-old girl along the Alipiri pedestrian route to Tirumala. This is the first reported incident of its kind on this route in recent history. The victim, identified as Lakshitha, was from Pothireddypalem village in Kovvur mandal of Nellore district. The incident occurred on Friday evening when the girl and her parents were trekking up to Tirumala. The parents noticed their daughter was missing when they reached the Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple point. Despite a frantic search by fellow pilgrims and the authorities, the girl could not be found. Eventually, her half-eaten body was discovered in the forest area near the temple. The parents expressed regret for choosing to trek instead of traveling by car. Notably, a similar incident occurred on June 22 when a five-year-old boy was nearly attacked by a leopard in the same area. The leopard was later captured and released away from the pedestrian route. The Alipiri pedestrian route sees a daily footfall of around 25,000 people, increasing to 40,000 on weekends and holidays..
