A 35-year-old man in Kolar, Bhopal, attempted to rape an 11-year-old girl, but her mother rescued her after the girl raised an alarm. The accused, Devilal Ahirwar, fled the spot when the locals gathered. A case has been registered against Devilal, and charges of molestation have been filed. The woman reportedly rescued her 11-year-old daughter from a man who was attempting to take her to his home with the alleged intention of raping her. The incident took place in Kolar on Friday night. The mother fought against the 35-year-old man and managed to save her daughter after the frightened girl raised an alarm. The accused, identified as Devilal Ahirwar, fled the scene when people in the area gathered. The Kolar police have registered a case in connection with the incident. According to the police, Devilal grabbed the young girl, who lives in the neighborhood, and dragged her towards his house. The girl, terrified, screamed for help. Hearing her cries, her 32-year-old mother rushed to the scene and engaged in a struggle with the accused, eventually rescuing her daughter. Devilal also assaulted the mother before fleeing when neighbors began to gather. The matter was subsequently reported to the police. Devilal, who works as a mason and resides in the same neighborhood, has been charged with molestation under relevant sections of the IPC and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act. It is important to note that the victim’s identity has not been revealed in order to protect her privacy, as per the Supreme Court’s directives on cases related to sexual assault..
