“54-year-old Lawana Pinkston killed, man critical in Orange County shooting”

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting incident that occurred on Friday night near Sand Lake Road and Winegard Road. A man and a woman were found shot and were taken to the hospital, where the woman died and the man is in critical condition. Deputies are still searching for more information about the suspect and the victims. Sam Martello,Brittany Caldwell reported

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is currently conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting of a man and a woman on Friday night. The incident took place at approximately 8:45 p.m. near the intersection of Sand Lake Road and Winegard Road. Our news crew arrived at the scene around noon the following day and observed investigators still present, nearly 15 hours after the initial report to deputies.

Upon their arrival, law enforcement officials discovered that both the man and woman had sustained gunshot wounds. They were promptly transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Tragically, the woman, identified as 54-year-old Lawana Pinkston, succumbed to her injuries, while the man, who is in his 40s, remains in critical condition.

In the aftermath of the incident, the affected area was cordoned off with crime scene tape, and several deputies were seen searching the surrounding woods. Despite our efforts to seek additional information from the sheriff’s office regarding the suspect or further details about the victims, we have yet to receive a response.
