Two men have been arrested by the Iheagwa Police Divisional Headquarters in Owerri for allegedly defiling an 11-year-old girl. The father of the victim reported the case to the police, and the suspects have been identified as Abalake Chika and Uchenna Jude. Two individuals have been apprehended by the Iheagwa Police Divisional Headquarters in Owerri for the alleged sexual assault of an 11-year-old girl named Onyemetu Anurika. The father of the victim, who resides in Umuakunta, Umuoduagu in the Ngor-Okpala Local Government Area of Imo State, reported the incident to the police on 10th August 2023. The Imo State Police Command Public Relations Officer, ASP Henry Okoye, disclosed that the two suspects are Abalake Chika, a 42-year-old native of Umuokochi, Umuezeawula, in Ihiagwa, Owerri West LGA of Imo State, and Uchenna Jude, a 25-year-old from Umuakuntu, in Ngor-Okpala LGA of Imo State. The accused individuals allegedly engaged in repeated sexual acts with the minor in her father’s residence while he was at work. They are currently in police custody at the Division, where initial investigations are underway. Subsequently, they will be transferred to SCIID Owerri for further discreet inquiries. Medical reports have confirmed severe injuries to the victim’s vulva as a result of the defilement. The minor has bravely shared her ordeal with her father and the police, providing details of the repeated assaults by the two suspects. ASP Okoye has assured the public that any developments in this case will be promptly communicated..
