One person has died in a car crash in Greenville County, according to the coroner. The accident occurred on Harris Springs Road and US 221, when a car traveling north went off the road, hit a ditch, overturned, and hit the railroad track. One person has died as a result of a crash in Laurens County. According to troopers, the incident occurred shortly before 10 PM last night at the intersection of Harris Springs Road and US 221. The car involved was traveling north on Harris Springs Road, veered off the right side of the road, hit a ditch, overturned, and collided with the railroad track at US 221. The driver of the car was fatally injured, while the passenger sustained injuries but did not require hospitalization. Further details are currently unavailable. In Greenwood County, the Sheriff’s Office is currently searching for an armed and dangerous man in connection with a woman’s death. The coroner’s office responded to a call on Kerr Road in Donalds after 6 AM yesterday morning, where they discovered the body of a woman inside a vehicle. The woman, identified as 47-year-old Crystal Rainey from Greenville, had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Authorities are now looking for 40-year-old Joshua Dean Nix, who has connections throughout South Carolina. The Sheriff’s Office advises the public not to approach Nix and to immediately call 911 if he is spotted.

The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office has arrested two men in connection with a murder investigation. Deputies were called to a burning vehicle on Sharon Road near Fowler Road on August 8th. Inside the vehicle, they found the victim, 51-year-old Leroy Palmer Jr., who had been reported missing on August 4th. Trail camera footage near Palmer’s car captured images of a man setting the vehicle on fire. Investigators have arrested Jimmy Salters and Odell Ferguson, as security video from a local business shows the two suspects together before the crime occurred.

Hazmat officials in Anderson County report a chemical explosion that occurred on Saturday afternoon. The incident took place around 1 PM on Abbeville Highway when residents mixed pool chemicals together inside a container at their home. The resulting explosion released a chlorine-like gas and led to the evacuation of nearby homes. EMS treated the affected residents on the scene before transporting them to a nearby hospital. The Homeland Park Fire Department is currently investigating the incident and has confirmed that there is no threat to the surrounding area.

In Richland County, a detention officer has been arrested for using excessive force on a detainee. The Sheriff’s Office received a report of the incident on June 29th, in which 25-year-old Bryant Sapp allegedly struck and kicked a detainee multiple times after being spat on. Officials state that Sapp did not attempt to de-escalate the situation. The detainee did not sustain any injuries. Following an investigation, Sapp was booked yesterday on charges of assault and battery, as well as misconduct in office.

Three individuals have died in a house fire in North Carolina, with three others sustaining injuries. The fire broke out around 2:25 AM on Friday at a vacation home in Kill Devil Hills. Fire crews were able to prevent the fire from spreading, but the home was fully engulfed. Investigations are ongoing.
