Three people were killed in a head-on collision on Highway 4 in Calaveras County. The accident occurred west of Vista Point and Copperopolis. A 2020 Honda collided with a 2020 Lexus, resulting in three deaths and six people with major injuries. The cause of the crash is still under investigation. Coleman Petit reported

A fatal collision occurred on Highway 4 in Calaveras County on Friday evening, resulting in the tragic death of three individuals. The incident occurred shortly after 7:00 p.m. near Vista Point and Copperopolis, as confirmed by the California Highway Patrol (CHP). Responding CHP officers arrived at the scene to find a head-on collision between a 2020 Honda and a 2020 Lexus. Tragically, three people were pronounced dead at the scene, while six others sustained severe injuries and were transported to nearby hospitals. The deceased victims, a male and two females, have not been identified. Although DUI is currently not considered a contributing factor, the details of the crash are still under investigation. As this is an ongoing investigation, no further information is available at this time.
