Three men who escaped from the Ascension Parish jail in Louisiana were recaptured in the nearby woods. Law enforcement used drones, a helicopter, and around 60 officers in the search. Sheriff Bobby Webre plans to investigate the escape. The escapees were identified as Zachary Freman, Blake Menefee, and Logan Delana. WWL Staff reported

“It was an unfortunate breach of security that should not have occurred, and I am relieved that we were able to apprehend the escaped individuals tonight,” stated Sheriff Bobby Webre. The incident took place in Ascension Parish, Louisiana, where three men managed to escape from the local jail on Friday night. Fortunately, they were captured later that same evening in the nearby woods, thanks to the joint efforts of law enforcement officers, including drones, a helicopter, and a team of approximately 60 officers. According to Ascension Parish Sheriff Bobby Webre, initial investigations suggest that at least one of the men tampered with a lock, enabling them to access the jail’s interior recreation yard from an exterior area. The escapees have been identified as Zachary Freman, aged 30, from St. Amant, Blake Menefee, aged 21, from Gonzales, and Logan Delana, aged 27, from Saucier, Mississippi. Sheriff Webre intends to launch an investigation into the incident..
