An image depicting a tragic car crash in East Massapequa, Nassau County has been released. According to authorities, a 32-year-old driver was speeding at an astonishing 120 mph when he collided with an SUV carrying a family who were out for ice cream. As a result of the collision, a father and two of his children were killed, and two others sustained critical injuries.

Investigators have revealed that the driver, Michael DeAngelo, had cocaine and fentanyl in his system at the time of the crash. DeAngelo now faces multiple charges, including three counts of aggravated vehicular homicide, three counts of manslaughter, six counts of assault, two counts of driving under the influence of drugs, one count of reckless driving, and two counts of assault.

The victims of the crash have been identified as Pat Huntley, a 60-year-old U.S. Marine veteran, along with his 10-year-old son Jeremiah and 13-year-old daughter Hannah. The surviving family members, including Huntley’s wife, Tasheba Hamilton, are devastated by the loss. Hamilton expressed her grief, stating that her daughter Chantel Solomon, aged 5, is still in critical condition after sustaining severe injuries.

DeAngelo, who suffered a compound fracture and internal injuries, was arraigned at the hospital where he is currently being treated. Despite initial witness reports suggesting drag racing, detectives have determined that DeAngelo was driving at such a high speed that he overtook other drivers, stopped at a gas station, and then overtook them again.
