A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a BCSO Crime Scene Unit Van on US-1 in Cocoa, Florida. The pedestrian was attempting to cross the road outside of a designated crosswalk. BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Florida Highway Patrol was called to the scene of a fatal accident involving a BCSO Crime Scene Unit Van and a pedestrian on US-1 early Saturday morning.
According to the investigation conducted by the Florida Highway Patrol, the BCSO Crime Scene Unit Van was traveling northbound on US-1 (N. Cocoa Blvd.), north of Mcleod Dr., when it collided with a pedestrian who was attempting to cross the road from west to east, outside of a designated crosswalk.

Officials have reported that the pedestrian was crossing the street in an area where it was not intended for pedestrians to cross.
As a result, the van struck the pedestrian, who was later pronounced dead at the scene.
The pedestrian has been identified as a 66-year-old woman from Cape Canaveral.
The driver of the BCSO Crime Scene Unit van has been identified as a 36-year-old woman. She did not sustain any injuries in the collision.
The crash is currently under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.

In Brevard County, Florida, a tragic incident occurred in which a pedestrian lost their life after being struck by a BCSO Crime Scene Unit Van on US-1 during the early hours of Saturday morning.
