Two individuals have been apprehended and are now facing charges of murder following a shooting incident in Tracy, California. The altercation, believed to be the result of road rage, occurred on August 4th along West Clover Road, and tragically resulted in the death of Ryan Wood, a 61-year-old resident of Manteca, who succumbed to his injuries on August 11th. The suspects, Eduardo Tarvin, 23, and Jacob Nevarez, 21, both from Lodi, were swiftly located and arrested on Interstate 205 after attempting to flee the scene of the crime. The Tracy Police Department, aided by their Flock ALPR cameras, successfully detained the suspects within a remarkable 15-minute timeframe. Tarvin and Nevarez now face charges that have been upgraded from attempted murder to murder, as well as shooting into a vehicle. Additionally, they are alleged to be responsible for various instances of road rage and brandishing weapons in the Tracy area. The incident is believed to have originated from an altercation between two vehicles: a silver/gray Jeep Wrangler and a white Nissan cargo van. Sergeant Michael Richards of the Tracy Police Department highlighted the unpredictability of people’s actions and the potential for even minor incidents to escalate into violence. In this tragic case, such escalation led to the loss of a life. Investigators suspect that the confrontation began on eastbound Interstate 580 near Pleasanton and continued onto eastbound Highway 205 in Tracy.
