A tragic incident occurred on August 11, involving a midwife from Narra, Palawan. The victim, Karen Dela Torre, lost her life in a fatal motorcycle accident that took place along South National Highway, Barangay Inagawan, Puerto Princesa City, at approximately 9AM.
Karen Dela Torre, a resident of Barangay Bagong Sikat, Narra, Palawan, was traveling with her husband and daughter towards Puerto Princesa when the tragic accident occurred.
A colleague from the Narra Rural Health Unit (RHU) disclosed that during the accident, Karen Dela Torre demonstrated remarkable bravery by attempting to shield and protect her daughter from harm. Regrettably, the impact of the collision caused her to sustain fatal injuries despite her heroic efforts.
Tragically, Karen Dela Torre succumbed to her injuries shortly after being transported to Puerto Princesa for medical assistance.
Fortunately, her husband, who was also involved in the accident, only suffered minor injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment.
