A 42-year-old man named Derek Pikes has been arrested and charged in connection with a shooting incident that resulted in the death of a 52-year-old man in Chatham back in January. The arrest was made by the Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force on Thursday at the 10000 block of West O’Hare Street. According to the police, Pikes has been identified as the suspect responsible for shooting and killing the victim on January 22nd at the 800 block of East 92nd Street. He has been taken into custody and is now facing a felony charge of first-degree murder. Pikes is scheduled to appear in bond court on Sunday..
