“Kevin Michael Huber Escapes from Amherst County Detention Center, Search Underway”

Amherst County Sheriff Deputies are searching for Kevin Michael Huber, an inmate worker who fled the Amherst County Adult Detention Center while cutting grass. Huber was seen getting into a red Dodge Ram pick-up truck driven by a woman named Stacey Rice. Warrants have been issued for Huber’s escape, and anyone with information is urged to contact the Amherst County Sheriff’s Office. Duke Carter reported

Huber, an inmate worker, was assigned the task of cutting grass near the Amherst County Adult Detention Center. However, at approximately 9:45 AM, Huber was observed entering a vehicle and departing the premises without obtaining permission from the authorities.

According to investigators, the vehicle involved in the incident is a 1997 red Dodge Ram pick-up truck, bearing the Virginia license plate TPD-6511. It is suspected that a female named Stacey Rice may be the driver of this vehicle.

Subsequently, warrants have been issued for Huber’s escape, as he was originally detained on charges related to Reckless Driving and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
