An Indian woman tragically took her own life and the lives of her two children in Lucknow on Friday, according to local media sources.
The 30-year-old woman, Saumya Singh, left behind a note expressing her frustration with her husband’s frugal habits.
The incident occurred in the Martinpurva area of Gautampalli.
Reports from local media indicate that Ravi Kumar, 32, discovered his wife and children at 2am, with the main door locked from inside.
After receiving no response, he looked through a window and found his wife and children hanging by an iron rail and bedsheets in the room.
He cried out for help, alerting neighbors who called the police. The bodies were taken to the hospital, where all three were pronounced dead.
The couple had two children — a two-year-old daughter named Anshu and a three-year-old son named Virat.
The family had recently relocated to Lucknow from Bihar due to Ravi’s job at the Gymkhana Club, as stated by his brother to local media.
Local residents reported that upon discovering his family’s bodies, Ravi attempted to take his own life by climbing to the fourth floor, but was rescued by the police.
