The identity of the deceased back seat passenger has not yet been disclosed, pending notification of their relatives. Although all three occupants were male, the ages of the two passengers have not been immediately determined. It remains unknown whether the individuals were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. Video footage revealed skid marks on the road leading up to the driveway where the car ultimately collided with the middle garage door facing the street. The accident occurred on a curved section of Orange Grove Boulevard, just before the intersection with Oliver Street, which may have contributed to the driver losing control.
While reports from KTLA suggested that the driver was traveling at nearly 100 miles per hour and that drugs and alcohol were potential factors in the crash, Sergeant Craig Phillips could not immediately confirm these details. As of 9:45 a.m. on Saturday, the cause and circumstances of the accident were still under investigation.
