Two workers were killed and three others were injured in an accident at the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) Simhadri unit in Anakapalle district. The incident occurred during electrical erection works when an electric cable collapsed and fell on the workers. The deceased have been identified as Tinku SK and S. Sheik from West Bengal. The NTPC Simhadri has formed a committee to investigate the cause of the accident and is providing support to the affected families. Express News Service reported

In the district of Anakapalle, within the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) Simhadri unit, a tragic incident occurred resulting in the loss of two workers’ lives and serious injuries to three others. The unfortunate event took place during the electrical erection works at approximately 2 pm. Identified as Tinku SK (31) and S. Sheik (28) from West Bengal, the deceased individuals were struck by a collapsed electric cable. Tinku passed away instantly, while Sheik succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. The three injured workers are currently receiving medical treatment. The authorities are now awaiting statements from the families of the deceased in order to proceed with the case. A case has already been registered under Section 174 of the IPC, and a thorough investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the mishap.
