Farmington Hills police have provided an update on the suspects arrested following a police chase. Two suspects have been apprehended and one has been charged, while three are still on the run. The pursuit was initiated after a stolen license plate was detected by a FLOCK LPR. During the chase, the suspect intentionally crashed into a police car before eventually being stopped by officers. One suspect was found in possession of an AK-47 style rifle. The search for the remaining three suspects is ongoing. CBSDetroit reported

Farmington Hills police have provided an update on the individuals they apprehended following a police pursuit that occurred on Monday afternoon. Out of the suspects involved, two have been arrested, with one already facing charges, while three remain at large. The incident unfolded on Middlebelt Road in Farmington Hills at approximately 1 p.m. on Tuesday, August 8. It all began when a stolen license plate was detected by a FLOCK LPR, prompting officers to respond promptly and locate the corresponding vehicle. The suspect, driving a grey 2024 Dodge Durango, attempted to evade the marked patrol cars by accelerating and colliding intentionally with a police vehicle that had tried to impede its progress. The collision disabled the police car and caused damage to the suspect’s vehicle, slowing it down significantly.

Subsequently, the police managed to bring the suspect vehicle to a halt, but the individuals inside fled the scene. While one suspect was immediately taken into custody, another was apprehended shortly thereafter. However, three suspects remain at large. Surveillance footage revealed that one of the suspects possessed an AK-47 style rifle, which prompted officers to return to the area of the incident and successfully recover the weapon. As the Farmington Hills police continue their search for the remaining three suspects, they have released additional details about the two individuals they have already arrested. One of them is a 24-year-old male who currently faces pending charges. The second suspect, identified as Destinee Amorie James, has been charged with felony resisting and obstructing police, which carries a maximum penalty of two years’ imprisonment.
