A man has died in Alsip, Illinois after his car crashed into an electric pole and caught fire. The incident occurred early Friday morning at the intersection of 115th Street and Central Avenue. Passersby pulled the driver, identified as 38-year-old Mark Winslow, from the vehicle before he was taken to Christ Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. ALSIP, Ill. (WLS) — A man has tragically lost his life after colliding with an electric pole and his vehicle catching fire in the southern suburbs during the early hours of Friday morning, according to local authorities.
Law enforcement stated that the incident occurred around 2 a.m. at the intersection of 115th Street and Central Avenue in Alsip. Prompt action was taken by two passing motorists who managed to extricate the driver, identified as 38-year-old Mark Winslow from Chicago, from the wreckage.
Tragically, despite efforts to save him, Winslow succumbed to his injuries after being transported to Christ Hospital by the Alsip Fire Department, as confirmed by the police.
The Alsip Police Department, in conjunction with the Suburban Major accident Reconstruction Team, is currently conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
