A man in Reno, Nevada has been sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 15 years for attacking his ex-girlfriend. The victim suffered extensive injuries to her neck and face after he rammed into her garage door and strangled her. She required surgery for a traumatic artery dissection. A photograph of an incident in Reno, Nevada shows a man who has been sentenced to life imprisonment, with the possibility of parole after 15 years. The man, named Jose Xochihua, had previously pleaded guilty to charges related to an attack on his ex-girlfriend. On April 12, 2022, the Sparks Police received a report of a domestic disturbance and upon arriving at the scene, they discovered that the victim’s garage door had been damaged, seemingly from being struck by a vehicle. Inside the house, they found a 40-year-old woman with severe injuries to her neck and face. She informed the police that Xochihua, her former boyfriend, had forcefully entered her home by ramming his vehicle into the garage door. He proceeded to strangle her until she lost consciousness, and upon awakening, she realized that Xochihua was sexually assaulting her. The victim fought back, causing the assailant to flee. She was then transported to the hospital, where she underwent surgery for a traumatic dissection of her carotid artery. Xochihua was later apprehended in California..
