Five people were killed in a crash on Interstate 81 in Franklin County, Pennsylvania. The crash occurred when the front left tire of an RV blew out, causing the RV to cross the median and collide with a tractor-trailer. All of the victims were pronounced dead at the scene. Five individuals lost their lives in a tragic accident on Wednesday evening on Interstate 81 in Franklin County. The collision occurred shortly before 9 p.m. in the northbound lanes of I-81 between Exit 16 (U.S. 30 – Lincoln Way) and Exit 20 (PA 997 – Scotland) in Greene Township. As a result of the crash, the affected stretch of road was closed for over 10 hours before being reopened. The Pennsylvania State Police have revealed that the accident was caused by a blown-out front left tire of a recreational vehicle (RV) traveling southbound. The RV veered across the grassy median and collided with a tractor-trailer that was towing double trailers. The victims in the RV have been identified as Donald Molander, Kimberly Molander, Miranda Molander, and Dane Molander, all from Middletown. The driver of the tractor-trailer, James Shade from Martinsburg, West Virginia, was also pronounced dead at the scene..
