The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal car accident that occurred on Route 5 in the Town of Pembroke. The driver of one of the vehicles, Nikki Stonebraker, was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of the collision is still being investigated. The operator and passenger of the other vehicle involved were transported to a nearby hospital with severe injuries. The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office is currently conducting an investigation into a tragic motor vehicle collision involving two cars on Route 5 in the Town of Pembroke. The incident was reported to the Genesee County Emergency Dispatch Center via a 9-1-1 call at 3:38 PM. Sergeant Kyle Krzemein, during a video interview, provided further details on the incident.

Upon the arrival of the patrol units at the scene, it was determined that one of the drivers involved had unfortunately passed away. The deceased driver has been identified as Nikki Stonebraker, a 34-year-old resident of Batavia, NY. Stonebraker was operating a tan 2007 Ford Freestyle vehicle at the time of the collision. She was traveling in the eastbound direction on Route 5 in the Town of Pembroke when her vehicle veered across the yellow line and collided with a 2013 Dodge Caravan that was traveling in the opposite westbound direction.

The driver and passenger of the Dodge Caravan sustained severe injuries and were immediately transported to Erie County Medical Center for medical treatment. Unfortunately, Stonebraker was pronounced dead at the scene by Genesee County Coroner Karen Lang. The exact cause of the collision is currently under investigation by the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office.

Assistance at the scene was provided by various agencies, including the New York State Police, Genesee County Emergency Management, Town of Pembroke Fire Department, East Pembroke Fire Department, Indian Falls Fire Department, and Mercy EMS. These organizations worked collaboratively to ensure the safety and well-being of all individuals involved in the incident.
