In Provo, Utah, a shooting involving FBI agents resulted in the death of one person on Wednesday morning. The incident occurred during the execution of an arrest and search warrant for a man named Craig Deleeuw Robertson. The FBI raid was specifically related to alleged threats made against President Biden, who is currently visiting Utah as part of a tour of three western states. The investigation into these threats began in April and the U.S. Secret Service was notified by the FBI in June. The FBI uncovered several posts on social media made by Robertson, in which he made threatening statements and indicated plans for violent actions. One of his posts mentioned President Biden’s visit to Utah and referenced owning a sniper rifle and a ghillie suit. The investigation also revealed other threats and calls for violence against the president and other officials. In addition to targeting President Biden, Robertson allegedly threatened to travel to New York to harm New York County District Attorney Alvin Bragg, who was overseeing the criminal investigation into former President Donald Trump. The threats made on social media were deemed credible by investigators. When approached by the FBI about his posts, Robertson showed no remorse and even made additional threats against the FBI. As a result of the investigation, Robertson was charged with three felony counts, including making interstate threats, threats against the president, and impeding and retaliating against federal law enforcement officers. The FBI was serving the warrant at Robertson’s residence in Provo when the shooting occurred.
