A man identified as Nursingha Mohanty allegedly stabbed his nephew to death and injured four others in a knife attack over a suspected dispute in Puri district. The deceased’s wife, mother-in-law, sister-in-law, and her husband were admitted to the hospital with serious injuries. The perpetrator has been identified as Nursingha Mohanty.
The victim, Soumya Ranjan Pradhan, tragically lost his life at the scene, while his wife, mother-in-law, sister-in-law, and her husband sustained grave injuries and have been admitted to the hospital for medical treatment.
Due to the deteriorating condition of the sister-in-law’s husband, he was transferred to Cuttack for further care.
Presently, the accused is reportedly on the run. The authorities from the Kumbharapada police station have arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation into the incident.
