One person has been fatally shot by FBI agents in Utah County during an investigation into alleged threats against President Biden. The shooting occurred while agents were attempting to serve an arrest and search warrant for a man named Craig Deleeuw Robertson. The investigation, which began in April, revealed that Robertson had made threatening posts online and suggested plans for physical action. Robertson was charged with felony counts of making interstate threats, threats against the president, and impeding and retaliating against federal law enforcement officers. The shooting incident is currently under review by the FBI’s Inspection Division. Derick Fox reported

A fatal shooting involving FBI agents took place in Utah County early Wednesday morning during an investigation into alleged threats against President Biden. The shooting occurred at around 6:15 a.m. at a residence in Provo where agents were attempting to serve an arrest and search warrant for a man named Craig Deleeuw Robertson. The FBI raid was confirmed to be connected to threats made against President Biden, who was visiting Utah as part of a tour of three western states.

The investigation into Robertson began in April and the U.S. Secret Service was notified by the FBI in June. Alongside making threatening posts, Robertson had reportedly indicated online that he was planning to take physical action. Court documents revealed that Robertson had posted a message stating, “I hear Biden is coming to Utah. Digging out my old ghille suit and cleaning the dust off the M24 Sniper Rifle. Welcome, Buffoon-in-Chief!” The FBI investigation found evidence that Robertson owned a sniper rifle and a ghillie suit. Several threatening posts and calls for violence against the president and other officials were also discovered on social media, dating back to September 2022.

One of the posts read, “The time is right for a presidential assassination or two. First Joe then Kamala!!!” Another post featured a picture of what appeared to be an assault rifle with the caption, “My democrat eradicator!!! A gas operated ‘point-n-sh**t’ nail driver.” In a third post, Robertson called for “Death to Biden” three times after referring to the president as a “lying idiot” who was “destroying America.” Additionally, court documents revealed that Robertson had threatened to travel to New York to kill New York County District Attorney Alvin Bragg, who was overseeing the criminal investigation into former President Donald Trump.

The threats made by Robertson on social media were considered credible by investigators. When approached by FBI investigators regarding his post about Bragg, Robertson claimed it was his dream and that they were done. He then made threats against the FBI on social media, questioning if they were still monitoring him and stating that he would have a loaded gun ready if they visited again. As a result of their investigation, Robertson was charged with three felony counts, including interstate threats, threats against the president, and impeding and retaliating against federal law enforcement officers by threat.

The shooting incident occurred when FBI agents were serving the warrant at Robertson’s Provo residence, resulting in his death. Details surrounding the events leading up to the shooting have not been disclosed. The FBI is currently reviewing the incident in accordance with their policy. Due to the ongoing investigation, no further details will be released at this time..
