Norman police have provided an update regarding a tragic collision that took place on Highway 9. Please refer to the video player above for further information. On August 4th at approximately 12:10 PM, the Norman police were called to the scene of a two-vehicle <a href="https://countylocalnews.com/">accident</a> on Highway 9 near Southeast 108th Avenue. According to officials, preliminary investigations indicate that one vehicle, for unknown reasons, veered out of its lane while traveling east and collided head-on with a westbound vehicle. The driver of the eastbound vehicle, a 72-year-old male, was pronounced<a href="https://countylocalnews.com/"> dead</a> at the scene due to the injuries sustained. To add to the tragedy, the driver of the other vehicle, a 26-year-old female, also suffered fatal injuries. Additionally, a 3-year-old girl who was seated in the back at the time of the collision was taken to the hospital and remains there to this day. The incident is currently under investigation.

The driver of the eastbound vehicle, a 72-year-old male, was identified as the deceased due to the injuries sustained in the crash.
