An 87-year-old man died after being punched by a 75-year-old man in a parking lot incident at Glenview Country Club in Sumter County. The victim had accidentally hit the suspect’s car and offered to exchange insurance information. However, the suspect proceeded to repeatedly punch the victim, causing him to suffer a brain bleed. A man has been apprehended by Sumter County deputies after allegedly assaulting an 87-year-old man in the parking lot of Glenview Country Club. According to the arrest report, the incident occurred on June 28 when 88-year-old Dean Zook accidentally hit the front bumper of another vehicle. The suspect, identified as 75-year-old Robert Moore, approached Zook, claiming that he had damaged his car. Zook, recognizing his mistake, requested to exchange insurance information. However, without provocation, Moore began repeatedly striking Zook. Realizing his error, Moore left the scene as it became apparent that Zook had hit a different vehicle. Unfortunately, the attack resulted in severe injuries for Zook, including bleeding in the brain, which tragically led to his death on July 16 while receiving treatment at the hospital.

Following investigation, Moore was identified as a suspect and subsequently arrested on charges of aggravated manslaughter of an elderly person, as stated in the arrest report..
