“31-year-old woman shot dead, cousin injured in St Catherine”

Police in St Catherine are investigating the shooting death of a 31-year-old woman and the injury of her cousin. The incident occurred when unknown assailants approached their parked car and fired several shots, killing the woman and injuring the man. The motive for the attack has not yet been determined. jamaica-gleaner.com reported

The Bog Walk police in St Catherine are currently conducting an investigation into the tragic shooting incident that resulted in the death of a 31-year-old woman, identified as Shelisa Hylton. Hylton, a laborer residing in August Town, Bog Walk, was fatally shot in the early hours of this morning, while her cousin sustained injuries.

According to reports, the incident occurred at around 3:30 a.m. when Hylton and her cousin were inside a parked vehicle on the Crawl Main Road in Riversdale, St Catherine. They were suddenly targeted by unidentified assailants who emerged from another car. One of the attackers, armed with a firearm, fired multiple shots at the victims within the vehicle, causing severe injuries to both individuals.

Emergency services promptly arrived at the scene and rushed the victims to the hospital. Tragically, Hylton succumbed to her injuries, while her cousin remains hospitalized for treatment.

As of now, authorities have yet to determine the motive behind this senseless and fatal attack.
