A youth was killed in a road accident in Mayurbhanj district, Odisha. The incident occurred when the victim and another person were returning from his sister’s house on a motorcycle. The motorcycle skidded off the road and collided with a barricade, resulting in the death of the youth and serious injuries to the other person. Betanoti Sadar: In a tragic incident on SH-18 under Baisinga police jurisdiction in Mayurbhanj district, a young man lost his life while riding a motorcycle with another individual. The accident occurred near a crossroad on an overbridge when they were returning from the young man’s sister’s house this afternoon.
The other person riding the motorcycle suffered severe injuries in the fatal mishap.
The deceased has been identified as Makara Soren, a 30-year-old resident of Ramnagar village near Nichuapada under Baripada Sadar police limits in the district. The injured individual is Bailu Mahanta, the son of Gadadhar Mahanta from the same village.
According to the police, the motorcycle (bearing registration number OR-11 L-3826) skidded off the road for unknown reasons, leading to the accident. The rider lost control of the vehicle, causing the duo to collide with a roadside barricade.
Local residents promptly came to the aid of the critically injured person and transported him to the hospital for medical treatment.
Upon receiving information from the locals, the Baisinga police arrived at the scene of the accident and took possession of the motorcycle. An investigation has been initiated, and a case has been registered by the police.
