A new week has begun and Netflix’s refusal to meet the demands of the writers and actors in the strike continues. However, they are not holding back on releasing a plethora of new movies and shows, including a film featuring Gal Gadot, a Netflix Original series, and a documentary series exploring the history of hip-hop.

One of the highlights this week is “Ladies First: A Story of Women in Hip-Hop,” a documentary series that will debut on Netflix on Wednesday, August 9, 2023. This series pays tribute to the influential women who have shaped the genre over the past 50 years, featuring artists such as Queen Latifah, MC Lyte, Saweetie, Tierra Whack, and Rah Digga.

Additionally, Netflix will be premiering a new original series called “Painkiller” on Thursday, August 10. Starring Matthew Broderick, Uzo Aduba, Taylor Kitsch, Clark Gregg, and Dina Shihabi, this series delves into the opioid epidemic in America, exploring the perspectives of the perpetrators, victims, and investigators involved.

Furthermore, Netflix will be offering “Heart of Stone” this week, with its release scheduled for Friday, August 11. This action-packed film stars Gal Gadot, along with Jamie Dornan, Matthias Schweighöfer, Archie Madekwe, Sophi Okonedo, and Alia Bhatt. The movie follows an intelligence operative’s mission to prevent a hacker from stealing their organization’s most valuable weapon.

In addition to these highly anticipated releases, Netflix will also be presenting “Zombieverse” on Tuesday, August 8, and “Mech Cadets” on Thursday, August 10.
