A man was found dead floating on the Columbia River near the Columbia Park East Boat Launch, according to the Kennewick Police Department. The man was identified as Joaquin Gutierrez-Velasquez. KENNEWICK, Wash.- According to a press statement released by the Kennewick Police Department, the lifeless body of a man was discovered floating on the Columbia River near the Columbia Park East Boat Launch on Saturday.

Benton County Sheriff’s Deputies and the Kennewick Police Department promptly responded to a distress call received at 11:42 a.m., reporting the sighting of a deceased male floating in the river.

The deceased individual has been identified as Joaquin Gutierrez-Velasquez, aged 46.

The Kennewick Police Department has stated that there are no apparent signs of foul play in relation to his death and that the investigation remains active.
