A 75-year-old man, Robert Moore, has been arrested for repeatedly punching an 87-year-old man, Dean Zook, in the head in the parking lot of a country club in Sumter County. The attack occurred after Zook hit the front bumper of Moore’s car and requested to exchange insurance information. Zook later died from his injuries, and Moore has been charged with aggravated manslaughter of an elderly person. WESH reported

Deputies have reported that a man has been arrested in Sumter County following an incident in which an 87-year-old man was repeatedly punched in the head. The attack took place at Glenview Country Club on June 28, after the victim accidentally hit the front bumper of another vehicle. The suspect approached the victim, accusing him of damaging his car, and a request was made to exchange insurance information. The victim admitted to hitting the car, but the suspect, identified as 75-year-old Robert Moore, began assaulting him. Moore eventually realized that the car did not belong to him and walked away. Unfortunately, the victim, Dean Zook, suffered a brain hemorrhage from the attack and ultimately passed away on July 16. Moore has been arrested on charges of aggravated manslaughter of an elderly person..
