The Mega Millions jackpot has reached $1.35 billion after no one matched all six numbers in Tuesday night’s drawing. Friday’s drawing is the second-largest Mega Millions jackpot ever and the fourth-largest jackpot in U.S. history, with a $659.5 million cash option. The jackpot has been on the rise since spring, when a $20 million prize was won in Syracuse, New York on April 18. Doc Louallen reported

The Mega Millions jackpot has soared to a staggering $1.35 billion following the absence of a winner with all six numbers in Tuesday night’s draw. This makes Friday’s draw the second largest in Mega Millions history and the fourth largest in the United States, offering a cash option of $659.5 million. The jackpot has been steadily increasing since spring, when a fortunate individual in Syracuse, New York won a $20 million prize on April 18. Throughout this year, a total of five other Mega Millions jackpots have been claimed, including a remarkable $1.348 billion haul in January, which was then the second biggest prize ever in the game’s lottery history. The winning numbers for Friday night’s draw are as follows: 11, 30, 45, 52, and 56, with the Mega Ball being 20 and the Megaplier at 2X. Playing Mega Millions requires a $2 ticket purchase, and there are nine possible ways to win a prize. To participate, players must select five numbers ranging from 1 to 70, along with one Mega Ball number from 1 to 25. Alternatively, players can opt for Easy Pick or Quick Pick, allowing the terminal to randomly generate the numbers. The jackpot is awarded to those who successfully match all six winning numbers in the draw. In case you missed out on the jackpot, Krispy Kreme is offering free donuts to customers presenting losing Mega Millions tickets. Additionally, many states offer the Megaplier feature, which multiplies non-jackpot prizes by two, three, four, or five times. This feature comes at an additional cost of $1 per play. Prior to each regular Mega Millions draw, the Megaplier is drawn from a pool of 15 balls, with five marked as “2X,” three as “4X,” and one as “5X.” With a staggering amount of $1.35 billion, Friday’s Mega Millions jackpot will equal the second largest ever in the lottery’s history. The other record-holding jackpots are as follows: $1.537 billion from a single winning ticket in South Carolina in October 2018, $1.35 billion (estimated, August 4, 2023), $1.348 billion from a single winning ticket in Maine in January 2023, $1.337 billion from a single winning ticket in Illinois in July 2022, and $1.05 billion from a single winning ticket in Michigan in January 2021..
