A Monroe man has been arrested and charged with multiple crimes including Attempted Manslaughter, Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property, and Illegal Carrying of Weapons. A man from Monroe has been taken into custody and charged with multiple offenses, including Attempted Manslaughter, Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property, Illegal Carrying of Weapons, Resisting an Officer, and Aggravated Assault with a Firearm, in Ouachita Parish.

The incident occurred on November 28, 2022, when officers from the Monroe Police Department responded to a shooting incident at Oak Manor Apartments on Peach Street. The victim informed the officers that they were involved in a verbal altercation with an individual named “Charles”.

According to the victim, during the altercation, the suspect, identified as Charles D. Holiday, displayed a handgun. Fearing for their safety, the victim left the scene. As they were driving away, the suspect allegedly fired shots at their vehicle. Subsequently, an arrest warrant was issued for Holiday on charges of Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property and Attempted Manslaughter.

On July 7, 2023, the Monroe Police received a call regarding a male suspect, identified as Holiday, who was reportedly threatening to harm a woman and her son at Oak Manor Apartments. Upon arrival, officers encountered Holiday and another male individual, both of whom attempted to flee. Law enforcement officers noticed that the suspects were concealing firearms and pursued them to an apartment. A search warrant was obtained, and during the search, a Glock 17 and a silver revolver were found in the apartment owner’s bedroom. The owner stated that the firearms did not belong to her.

During the investigation, the victim confirmed that Holiday had threatened to kill her and her son. Holiday was subsequently arrested and denied possessing a firearm. He was taken to the Ouachita Correctional Center, and his bail was set at $164,000.
