Korea-based multinational girl group XG has recently dropped their latest single titled ‘TGIF’. The music video for ‘TGIF’ showcases surreal visuals, including floating slime blobs and mystical creatures that the girl group rides on. In the catchy chorus, they sing, “VVS’s got nothing on me / Want it, got it, flaunt it, I am queen / Pleased with blessings, look at my body / Wake up, look up in the mirror / T-G-I-F.” This new track will be featured on XG’s upcoming debut mini-album ‘New DNA’, scheduled for release in September. The mini-album will also include their previously released single ‘GRL GVNG’. The news of the upcoming release of ‘New DNA’ follows XG’s viral success with their dual singles ‘shooting Star’ and ‘Left Right’, which were released in January. The group has since released remixes of both songs, collaborating with Rico Nasty on the rework of ‘shooting Star’ and featuring GOT7’s Jackson Wang and Ciara on the new version of ‘Left Right’. XG first made their debut in March 2022 with the single ‘Tippy Toes’ and later made a comeback with ‘Mascara’. The group’s rappers gained popularity on TikTok in late 2022 after the release of their performance clip for ‘GALZ XYPHER’. In June, XG members Hinata, Juria, and Chisa delighted fans with a new video in their ‘XG VOX’ series, where they covered songs by various artists such as TLC, WOODZ, and Utada Hikaru, among others..
