A teenager from Gainesville tragically lost his life, while a man from the same city is in critical condition following a heated argument that turned violent on Wednesday night. The incident took place at a location off Roy Parks Road and prompted a response from deputies of the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO). Upon their arrival at the scene, law enforcement discovered the lifeless body of 17-year-old Paul Statham, Jr., who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Another individual, identified as 31-year-old Tyrenskie Odem, was found with a single gunshot wound to the pelvic area and is currently receiving medical treatment.
According to the ongoing investigation conducted by HCSO criminal investigators, it appears that Statham initiated the confrontation upon arriving at the residence. A verbal argument ensued between Statham and Odem, which eventually escalated when Statham brandished a firearm and fired shots at Odem. In response, a third party present at the scene reacted by shooting at Statham, resulting in his demise. Notably, the individual who fired the fatal shots has been cooperating with the HCSO investigation and has not been charged with any wrongdoing.
