A 53-year-old individual lost their life on Thursday following an alleged armed confrontation with the Geneva County Sheriff’s Office in Alabama. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) has identified the deceased as Andrew Massey, a resident of Hartford. The State Bureau of Investigation has taken charge of the inquiry into this tragic shooting, although ALEA has not disclosed any specific details regarding the incident.
According to Sheriff Tony Helms, deputies were dispatched to a residence on County Road 45 outside Hartford on Thursday afternoon, in response to reports of a naked man – later identified as Massey – causing damage to his father’s property by firing shots at windows. As per information provided by the sheriff to WDHN, Massey emerged from the house armed with a firearm and was subsequently shot by the deputies. He was swiftly transported to the hospital, where his death was later confirmed. Fortunately, no deputies sustained any injuries during the incident..
