According to the Natchez Democrat, the man’s body was located on a boat dock by passing fishermen at approximately 11:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 2. Inside a vehicle, authorities found the deceased dog, which they believe had been left running. Identified as James William Myrick, a 69-year-old resident of Natchez, the man showed no signs of physical injury, as reported by Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten. Investigators speculate that Myrick may have succumbed to heat exhaustion while returning up the ramp after a fishing excursion.
