A Monroe man has been arrested and charged with Attempted Manslaughter, Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property, Illegal Carrying of Weapons, Resisting an Officer, and Aggravated Assault with a Firearm. The arrest came after a shooting incident at Oak Manor Apartments, where the suspect allegedly brandished a handgun and shot at the victim’s vehicle. The suspect, identified as Charles D. A Monroe man has been apprehended and accused of several crimes, including Attempted Manslaughter, Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property, Illegal Carrying of Weapons, Resisting an Officer, and Aggravated Assault with a Firearm. This arrest follows an incident on November 28, 2022, at the Oak Manor Apartments in Monroe, where the suspect, identified as Charles D. Holiday, allegedly engaged in a verbal altercation with the victim named “Charles.” During the altercation, Holiday reportedly displayed a handgun, leading the victim to flee the scene. While the victim was leaving, Holiday allegedly fired shots at their vehicle. Consequently, an arrest warrant was issued for Holiday on charges of Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property and Attempted Manslaughter.
Another incident occurred on July 7 at the same apartment complex, where Holiday was accused of threatening a female victim and her son with a firearm. When Monroe Police arrived, Holiday and another individual attempted to evade the officers while concealing firearms. They sought refuge in an apartment, prompting the officers to obtain a search waiver to investigate further. Inside the apartment owner’s bedroom, authorities discovered a Glock 17 and a silver revolver, which the owner claimed did not belong to her. The victim confirmed Holiday’s threats, leading to his arrest. Holiday denied possessing a firearm when questioned by the police. He has since been taken into custody and is being held at the Ouachita Correctional Center on a $164,000 bond..
