The Richmond Police Department is currently conducting an investigation into the fatal shooting of a 24-year-old man in Richmond’s East End. On Wednesday, August 2nd, around midnight, officers responded to a reported shooting on Phaup Street. Upon arrival, they discovered Zion Joseph, a resident of Richmond, suffering from a gunshot wound in front of a nearby residence. Joseph was transported to a nearby hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries this morning. The cause and manner of Joseph’s death will be determined by the Office of the Medical Examiner.
