Minneapolis man Dajohn Cortez Ramon Yarborough has been captured by federal agents in Arizona more than a year after being charged with a fatal shooting. Yarborough was pulled over during a traffic stop and identified as a murder defendant, and he has been brought back to Minnesota to face charges of second-degree intentional murder and illegal weapons possession. The shooting occurred in April 2022 and resulted in the death of Darrell L. Sims II. Yarborough has a history of criminal offenses, including drug dealing and assault. A Minneapolis man who was charged with a fatal shooting in Minneapolis over a year ago has been apprehended by federal agents in Arizona. Dajohn Cortez Ramon Yarborough, 32, was arrested during a traffic stop in Navajo County and handed over to the U.S. Marshals Service. He has been brought back to Minnesota and appeared in court on charges of second-degree intentional murder and illegal possession of weapons in relation to the death of Darrell L. Sims II. Yarborough, who has a history of criminal offenses including drug dealing and assault, is currently held in jail pending a court appearance. The shooting occurred when a man approached Sims outside an apartment building and opened fire, as captured on apartment security video. Yarborough was identified as the gunman based on home video surveillance shared by a sheriff’s deputy with a confidential informant. The motive for the shooting remains unknown..
