A man, identified as John Castic, 27, was found dead in Newtown Creek, Brooklyn, according to the New York City Police Department. This marks the second time since June that a person last seen at a Brooklyn music complex has been discovered dead in the nearby creek.

John Castic was reported missing after he was last seen at the Brooklyn Mirage venue in the early hours of Saturday. His body was pulled out of the water by officers on Tuesday morning, and emergency medical personnel declared him dead.

The Avant Gardner entertainment complex, which includes Brooklyn Mirage, Kings Hall, and Great Hall, has now seen two deaths in the creek. The first victim, Karl Clemente, 27, from Queens, was found in the creek on June 16. He was last seen near the complex on June 11.

Brooklyn Mirage, a seasonal amphitheater known for hosting electronic dance music events, opened in 2017 and can accommodate several thousand patrons. The complex has not yet responded to requests for comment regarding the recent tragedies.
