MIAMI – A man has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a woman in Miami over the weekend. Michael Williams, 46, has been charged with first-degree murder and armed battery. The incident occurred on Sunday in the area of NW 14th Avenue and 58th Terrace.
Police responded to reports of a shooting and discovered the body of a woman who had been shot in the head. Witnesses reported that the woman had been involved in a verbal fight with Williams, who later approached her vehicle and began assaulting her. The woman defended herself and managed to knock the gun out of Williams’ hand. However, he retrieved the weapon and continued to attack her.
Eventually, Williams shot the woman in the head before fleeing the scene on an electric bike. On Tuesday, police located and apprehended Williams at his apartment on NE Miami Court. Authorities have revealed that Williams has an extensive criminal history, including eight felony convictions.
