Detectives are currently investigating the tragic shooting incident that occurred in Camden City. The victim, identified as Freddy Alfonso, 33, from Pennsauken, was fatally wounded on Tuesday. Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez reported the incident.

The incident took place in the early hours of August 1, 2023, when officers from the Camden County Police Department responded to a ShotSpotter activation in the 1600 block of Pulaski Street in Camden. Upon arrival, they discovered Mr. Alfonso suffering from severe gunshot wounds.

Emergency services swiftly transported the victim to Cooper University Hospital, where, tragically, he was pronounced dead at approximately 3:36 a.m.
