Six Minors Arrested in Connection with Deadly shooting in Falcon, Colo.

Law enforcement authorities have announced the arrest of six minors in connection with a quintuple shooting in Falcon last winter. The El Paso County deputies responded to reports of incessant gunfire in the Meridian Ranch neighborhood on February 5. Upon arrival, they discovered five shooting victims on Point Reyes Drive, with two of them, identified as Javier Lopez and Caleb Nickerson, succumbing to their injuries at the hospital.

The investigation process was complicated due to the involvement of minors, according to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office. In collaboration with various agencies, including the Pueblo Police Department, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office conducted a methodical investigation into the shootings. In July, a series of warrants were executed around Pueblo County, leading to the arrest of a juvenile male on charges of attempted murder and related offenses.

A joint operation involving the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, Pueblo Police Department, Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office, FBI, and ATF, took place in late July, resulting in the arrest of a male juvenile. This individual is charged with first-degree murder for the deaths of Javier Lopez and Caleb Nickerson. In total, six suspects were arrested in connection with the Point Reyes incident and unrelated warrants.

Law enforcement officials have expressed their appreciation for the collaboration and efforts of the investigating teams, as well as the patience and support of the community. Further arrests are expected as the investigation into the crimes allegedly committed by this group of individuals continues.

The investigation was assisted by several agencies, including the 4th Judicial District Attorney’s Office, Colorado Springs Police Department, Fountain Police Department, Colorado State Patrol, FBI Safe Streets Taskforce, ATF Taskforce, US Marshals Fugitive Task Force, Wichita Kansas Police Department, and Crime Stoppers.
