A woman has died and nine others were injured in a wrong-way vehicle crash on Maryland’s Capital Beltway. The crash involved a white Mercedes SUV traveling southbound in the northbound lanes, which collided with a Lexus and a Nissan Pathfinder. The driver of the Nissan, a female, was pronounced dead at the hospital. The alleged wrong-way driver, Jayleen Hannor, was arrested and charges are pending. A tragic incident occurred on Maryland’s Capital Beltway when a vehicle traveling in the wrong direction caused a multi-vehicle accident, resulting in the death of a woman and injuries to nine others. According to Maryland State Police, a white Mercedes SUV was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of I-270, colliding with a Lexus and a Nissan Pathfinder in Montgomery County. The Lexus occupants, five adults, were transported to hospitals for treatment, while the Nissan occupants, two adults and three children, also suffered injuries. Unfortunately, the female driver of the Nissan was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. The identity of the deceased woman is being withheld until her next of kin are notified. The alleged wrong-way driver, Jayleen Hannor, a 23-year-old from Macon, Georgia, fled the scene but was later apprehended and taken into custody by the Rockville Barrack. Charges against Hannor are pending. The Maryland State Police Crash Team is currently investigating the cause of the accident.
