17-year-old Ryan Bell, a senior at Cascade High School, met with a fatal accident on Monday morning while on his way to Area 31 to start the school year. The incident occurred on U.S. 40 near Stilesville.

The Hendricks County Sheriff’s Office has launched an investigation into the crash. Deputies responded to the scene after receiving a call from the Hendricks County Communications Center at approximately 6:20 a.m.

According to the initial investigation, Ryan was driving eastbound on U.S. 40 in a Saturn car when the vehicle suddenly veered off the road and collided with a tree. Tragically, Ryan, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have stated that drugs and alcohol are not believed to have played a role in the accident. However, the investigation is ongoing to determine the exact cause.
